Healthcare Connections
The Need Is Growing
Each year, over 12,100 women in Puget Sound are diagnosed with cancer, with numbers rising—especially among younger women. African American and Latina women continue to experience disproportionately poorer outcomes due to inequities in access and survivorship care.
“Over 15,000 studies link physical activity to positive outcomes, including reduced fatigue, anxiety, and depression, and improved quality of life. – The American College of Sports Medicine
Movement is Medicine
Exercise during and after treatment can:
- Improve physical and emotional outcomes
- Reduce treatment-related side effects
- Boost confidence and quality of life
- Lower risk of recurrence for certain cancers
Yet many patients lack access to safe, appropriate, and welcoming programs—especially after treatment ends. Team Survivor Northwest helps close this gap.
How to Partner
There are several meaningful ways healthcare professionals and organizations get involved:
Refer
Refer Patients with Confidence
Connect women at any stage of treatment or recovery to safe, free, evidence-based and welcoming programs designed for cancer survivors —no referral paperwork required.
Integrate
Integrate into Routine Care
Introduce our programs to the professionals who support your patients every day—nurses, patient navigators, physical therapists, social workers, and care coordinators. A brief introduction can turn Team Survivor into a go-to resource.
Host
Host Programs in your Space
Provide space for classes, workshops, or gatherings and help us expand access to trusted survivor-centered programming.
