for a Fun-Filled Day on the Mountain
This is a day our members look forward to every year. Unlike our annual and seasonal fitness programs, the Snowshoe trip is open to friends and family. So, don’t miss out. Invite your husbands, wives, kids and friends who have been supporting you and cheering you on throughout your cancer and fitness journeys.

- Meet at Island Crest Park & Ride on Mercer Island where we board a bus. The bus departs at 8am.
- Arrive at Snoqualmie Pass and the Nordic Center about 9:30am; if driving on your own, meet at the Summit Nordic Center by 9:45am (490 Hyak Drive, Snoqualmie Pass; take I-90 West to Exit 54)
- Begin snowshoeing at 10:00am! We’ll follow an uphill trail with beautiful views and stop for lunch while on the trail
- Meet back at the bus at 2:30pm and depart Snoqualmie Pass
- Return to Island Crest Park & Ride

What to bring:
- Snowshoes and poles (for non-members; rent at REI or Second Ascent)
- Lunch, snacks and water and a pack to carry them in. We will eat on the trail.
- Feel free to bring a morning beverage and snack for the ride up and a snack for the ride home. You can leave extra clothes/shoes/food on the bus.
- Layers (it could be sunny, rainy, snowing, but it will be cold!) Recommended by the Washington Trails Association:
- Lightweight ski pants, rain pants with long underwear, snowboarding pants lined with fleece or regular trekking pants. You want something waterproof.
- Quick-dry base layer top layered with a fleece jacket that can be unzipped for ventilation and a waterproof, breathable jacket. You want to be a little cold when you start as you will warm up quickly.
- Warm, waterproof boots (Gore-tex hiking boots would be fine); wool or thermal socks (not cotton); gators can be useful but not required.
- You will want dry socks and shoes for the ride home.
- Also bring sunglasses, a hat, waterproof gloves and sunscreen, and a camera
